Jena was born and raised by many supportive family members and friends around Alberta; most of all, her late step-dad, Chet. It truly takes a village, and she is so grateful for each and every one of them. Before writing poetry, she received her degree from University of Alberta in 2016 and later that year, married her husband, Daniel; they had their beautiful daughter two years later. At the end of 2021 she decided to pursue her dream of writing poetry.
