Roger was born in Toronto and studied graphic design and media writing at Sheridan College in Oakville. He was interested in everything: he worked as a bookstore manager, a Pinkerton’s security guard, an auto-parts assembler in West Germany, and a film-festival coordinator at Harbourfront, Toronto. Then, after ten years in the hospitality industry managing in clubs, restaurants and hotels, he joined the Federal Government, first as a Canada Customs officer at Pearson Airport and then as a senior policy analyst, developing human resources programs and writing policy and speeches for Deputy Ministers.
At heart, Roger has always been a writer. In his spare time he wrote two screenplays, a stage play and had poetry published in the literary magazine Waves. In 2020 he left the public service to write fiction full time with a wealth of life experience to draw upon for his stories.
